Many people will always have unrealistic expectations of relationships. Hopeless romantics think that love is the solution to all of life’s problems. Some continuously confuse lust with love. And what we believe about relationships generally affects what kind of attitude we have when we deal with our relationships.

When we have unrealistic expectations, not only do we disappoint ourselves, we disappoint our partners. Many people think that if they find the right guy or girl, the whole relationship is just one smooth ride. Wrong. Love really takes a lot of work.
